What is Green Room?
A green room is a private backstage area in a webinar or streaming tool where hosts and guests gather before going live, checking audio and video without the audience seeing them.

Functionally it is a separate state in the session: participants are connected and can see and hear each other, but nothing is being broadcast. Hosts control who is promoted on air and when, and panellists can be moved back off air between segments without leaving the session.
This is where the problems that would otherwise derail a live show get caught: a guest on the wrong microphone, a backlit window, a name spelled wrong on their lower third. It also sets the tone, because a guest who has already spoken to you for five minutes is noticeably less stiff in their first on-air answer.
Bring guests in 10 to 15 minutes early and run a short checklist: input levels, headphones on to prevent echo, framing, lighting, and a confirmation of how you will signal the wrap. Agree a hand signal or chat message for the handover so no one talks over the host's introduction.
Where Green Room shows up
You will meet Green Room most often while comparing webinar platforms - Livestorm, Demio, WebinarJam, and EverWebinar all deal with it, though not in the same way or at the same price.
