Hosting and Distribution
Podbean's hosting infrastructure gives every paid plan unlimited audio storage and unmetered bandwidth. You upload episodes in MP3, M4A, or WAV format, and Podbean handles encoding, RSS feed generation, and automatic distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and more. The Podbean app itself has millions of active listeners, giving you a built-in audience beyond the standard directories. Episode scheduling, season management, and embeddable players for external websites are all included. The main limitation is that each paid plan (Audio and Plus) supports only one podcast. If you want to host a second show, you either need a separate account with a separate subscription or the $79/month Network plan. This is Podbean's weakest structural decision compared to Transistor and Captivate, which offer unlimited shows at every tier. For single-show podcasters, the hosting is excellent. For multi-show creators, it's a deal-breaker at the lower price points.
