Where Moosend fits
Moosend is an email marketing tool that sells automation at the price other vendors charge for sending. The visual workflow builder is the centre of the product, unlimited sends are included on every tier, and landing pages and subscription forms come with it rather than as an upsell. It is the value pick, and it looks like one.
Pricing is by subscriber band, and Moosend publishes the bands rather than an entry rate with the rest hidden. Our 13 June 2026 check of moosend.com recorded Pro at $9 a month for 500 subscribers, $16 for 1,000, $24 for 2,000 and $48 for 5,000, with Moosend+ and Enterprise quoted rather than listed.
Those bands are worth reading as a curve rather than four prices. Going from 500 to 5,000 subscribers takes the monthly rate from $9 to $48, which is about five and a third times the price for ten times the list, so the cost per subscriber roughly halves as you grow. The sharpest single step is 500 to 1,000, where $9 becomes $16 for twice the list.
The annual rates recorded on the same check were $7 a month at 500 subscribers, $13 at 1,000, $19 at 2,000 and $38 at 5,000. At the smallest band that is $84 across a year against $108 billed monthly, a saving of $24, and at 5,000 subscribers it is $456 against $576, a saving of $120. The snapshot puts the annual discount at 20 per cent and a biannual option at 15 per cent, with nonprofits taking a further 25 per cent off.
The missing free plan is the structural difference between Moosend and everything else here. Our check recorded a 30-day trial with full Pro features and no card required, and nothing permanent behind it. Every other tool in this category we have dated gives you somewhere to sit at $0, so Moosend is a decision rather than a default.
Across the category it is the floor on price. Buttondown matched it at $9 a month on Basic, for up to 1,000 subscribers rather than 500, verified 13 June 2026. Moosend pricing against the newsletter platforms
Moosend is at or near the bottom of this category on price at every band we hold. Buttondown was also $9 a month on Basic, verified 13 June 2026, and that $9 covered up to 1,000 subscribers against Moosend's 500, so Buttondown is the cheaper of the two at 1,000 where Moosend charges $16. MailerLite was $12 a month on Comfort with a permanent free tier, verified 1 October 2026. AWeber started at $15 a month on Lite, verified 13 June 2026. Mailchimp was $13 on Essentials, verified 10 June 2026. Three of those four dates sit within days of ours, which makes the comparison a fair one.

What Moosend gives up
You give up the safety net. There is no free plan behind the 30-day trial, so the choice on day 31 is pay or stop, and a list you built during the trial sits behind a paywall you have not yet decided to walk through.
Integrations are the real weak point, especially for selling. Our product notes record no native Shopify connection, which means Zapier or Make in the middle of your most important data flow, and the library is shorter than the larger vendors in this category.
Templates look their age. The automation builder punches above the price and the designs do not, so matching a modern brand takes more work here than on a platform that has refreshed its gallery recently.
You give up newsletter-specific features entirely. No referral engine, no recommendations and no public archive, so growth is yours to drive. Beehiiv at $43 a month on Scale, verified 1 October 2026, is the tool built the other way round.
The band steps are small but they are steps, and the first one is steep. Going from 500 to 1,000 subscribers took the monthly rate from $9 to $16 on our 13 June 2026 check, which is a 78 per cent rise for double the list, so the cheap headline price has a short life if you are growing.
Anti-spam enforcement is strict and that is a cost to anyone with an inherited list. A platform that polices list quality protects deliverability for everyone on it, and it also means a migrated list of uncertain provenance may not be welcome.
