Taplio review: $39 Starter with no AI credits

Taplio is a LinkedIn-only growth tool, and its cheapest plan withholds the feature most buyers come for. Our check of taplio.com on 15 June 2026 recorded Starter at $39 a month with no AI credits, Growth at $69 and Pro at $199. That makes $69 the real entry price for the AI.

The short answer

Buy Taplio Buy Taplio Growth if LinkedIn is your main channel, you post several times a week, and you want drafting help, carousels and a post library in one place. Growth was $69 a month, or $52 billed annually, when we checked taplio.com on 15 June 2026, which is $624 across a year on the annual rate.

Skip it if you only need the posts to go out on time. Buffer charges $5 per channel a month on Essentials, verified 1 October 2026, so one LinkedIn channel is $5 a month and $60 a year there against $468 for a year of Taplio Starter at the monthly rate.

Where Taplio fits

Taplio does one platform and knows it well. Scheduling, a carousel builder, a searchable library of posts that performed, LinkedIn-specific analytics and a browser extension that annotates the feed as you read it. If your pipeline comes from LinkedIn, the depth here is beyond what a general scheduler offers.

The pricing shape is the thing to understand before anything else. Our 15 June 2026 check recorded Starter at $39 a month with zero AI credits, Growth at $69 with AI writing and the hook generator, and Pro at $199 with unlimited AI, a lead database and outreach automation. The AI is the headline feature and it is not on the cheapest plan.

That makes the honest entry price $69 a month rather than $39 for most buyers, a difference of $30 a month and $360 across a year. Starter is a scheduler with a carousel builder attached, and a scheduler alone can be had for far less elsewhere, which is the uncomfortable position that tier occupies.

On the annual rates the same check recorded Starter at $29 a month, Growth at $52 and Pro at $149. Across a year that is $348 against $468 on Starter, $624 against $828 on Growth, and $1,788 against $2,388 on Pro. The snapshot records the annual discount as 25 per cent, and our own sums on the monthly and annual rates are consistent with that.

Credits are the second meter and the one that bites. Growth carried a monthly AI credit allowance rather than unlimited use, so heavy drafting runs out before the month does, and the answer the rate card offers is Pro at $199 a month. Price the jump from $69 to $199 before you rely on the AI daily.

Against the category, Taplio is expensive and narrow by design. Buffer charges $5 per channel a month on Essentials, verified 1 October 2026, which is $60 a year for one LinkedIn channel. Metricool was $20 a month on Starter, verified 6 October 2026, and covers several networks. Sprout Social was $99 per seat a month on Essentials, verified 6 October 2026, and Hootsuite was $99 a month on Standard, verified 1 October 2026, both of which buy breadth where Taplio buys depth.

The date matters here as much as the figures. This pricing was last verified on 15 June 2026, four months before this review, and credit allowances are the most volatile part of any AI product's rate card. Read the current page before you commit, and the social media scheduling category holds the alternatives with their own check dates.

Taplio pricing

Taplio charges a flat monthly fee across three tiers, with AI credits as a second meter. Every figure below comes from our check of taplio.com on 15 June 2026 and has not been re-verified since, so confirm it before you buy.

Growth$69/mo$52/mo billed annually. AI writing, the hook generator and a monthly credit allowance

The tier you need is set by how much AI you use, not by how many posts you publish. Five drivers:

  1. Whether you want the AI at all. Starter carried no credits on our 15 June 2026 check, so AI drafting starts at Growth, $69 a month or $52 annually.
  2. Credit volume. Growth carried a monthly allowance and Pro at $199 a month removed the limit, so daily drafting is a $130 a month decision, $199 less $69.
  3. The lead database and outreach tools, which sat on Pro only and are the reason most Pro subscriptions exist.
  4. Billing period. Growth was $52 a month annually against $69 monthly, which is $624 against $828 across a year, a saving of $204.
  5. Seats, because team features sat on Pro and each person needs their own. Two Pro seats at the annual rate is $298 a month, which is $149 twice.

Taplio pricing against the schedulers

Taplio is priced as a growth tool rather than a scheduler, and the gap is wide. Buffer charges $5 per channel a month on Essentials, verified 1 October 2026, so one LinkedIn channel is $60 a year there against $348 for a year of Taplio Starter at the annual rate. Metricool was $20 a month on Starter and $53 on Advanced, verified 6 October 2026, across several networks. Sprout Social at $99 per seat a month on Essentials, verified 6 October 2026, and Hootsuite at $99 a month on Standard, verified 1 October 2026, cost more than Growth and cover every network rather than one. Those dates are more recent than Taplio's, so the comparison is not like for like.

Taplio billing terms worth knowing

The credit allowance is the term that decides whether your plan holds for a month, and the Starter tier's omission is the one that catches buyers.

What Taplio gives up

The cheapest plan withholds the main feature. Starter at $39 a month, or $29 annually, is scheduling and a carousel builder, so anyone buying Taplio for the AI is looking at $69 a month, $828 across a year at the monthly rate.

LinkedIn only. Every pound you spend here buys depth on one network, so a second platform means a second subscription, and Metricool at $20 a month on Starter, verified 6 October 2026, covers several for less than Taplio's entry tier.

The AI drafts sound like AI drafts. Hooks and openings are the strongest output and full posts arrive in recognisable shapes, so budget rewriting time rather than expecting publishable copy, which weakens the case for paying for credits at all.

Credits run down faster than most people expect, and the fix the rate card offers is Pro at $199 a month, or $149 annually. That is $1,788 a year on the annual rate for a single-network tool, which is a serious commitment to one channel.

The AI does not learn your voice over time, so the rewriting you do in month six is the rewriting you did in month one. Nothing in the pricing reflects that, and it is the main reason people cancel after a quarter.

Team use sits on Pro and each person needs a seat. Two seats on the annual rate is $298 a month, which is $149 twice, so an agency managing several founders' accounts should price that before committing.

Our pricing evidence is from 15 June 2026, which is the weakest part of this page. Four months is long enough for a credit allowance to be halved or a tier to be renamed, and this product's value turns on exactly those details.

How Taplio compares

The three tools below are the ones weighed against Taplio, and the axis is one-network depth against breadth and cost. Prices are each vendor's published rates with the date we checked them, and those dates differ by nearly four months, so read them with that in mind. The wider field sits in the social media scheduling category.

What to test in the Taplio 7-day trial

The trial gave full Pro access for 7 days on our 15 June 2026 check, which means you test the tier you may not buy. Confirm the current terms first, because these figures are four months old.

  1. Check the current rates and credit allowances on taplio.com/pricing. Our figures are from June 2026 and credits are the fastest-moving part of any AI rate card.
  2. Draft five real posts with the AI and count how many survive editing. That ratio decides whether Growth at $69 a month, or $52 annually, is worth it over a plain scheduler.
  3. Watch the credit counter while you do it. The trial runs on Pro's unlimited allowance, so note how many drafts you needed and compare that against Growth's monthly limit.
  4. Build one carousel from a blog post. The carousel builder was on every tier including Starter at $39 a month, so it is the one feature you can buy cheaply here.
  5. Use the hook generator on a post you have already published. Comparing its openings with your own is the fairest test of the AI's strongest output.
  6. Price the alternative honestly: Buffer at $5 per channel a month, verified 1 October 2026, is $60 a year for one LinkedIn channel against $348 for a year of Starter on the annual rate.
  7. Decide before the trial ends whether you need the lead database, because that is the $199 a month tier, $149 annually, and the cost calculators will total the year either way.

Taplio questions buyers ask

How much does Taplio cost per month?

Taplio offers three plans: Starter at $39/month ($29/month annually), Growth at $69/month ($52/month annually), and Pro at $199/month ($149/month annually). The Starter plan includes scheduling and the carousel builder but no AI credits. The Growth plan adds 250 AI credits and the hook generator. The Pro plan gives unlimited AI plus a lead database. Annual billing saves 25%.

Does Taplio have a free trial?

Yes. Taplio offers a 7-day free trial with full Pro access: all features, unlimited AI credits, and the lead database. No credit card is required to start. This is genuinely useful because it lets you test the AI writing quality and carousel builder before committing to a paid plan. Use all 7 days and create real content, not just test posts.

Who is Taplio best for?

Taplio is built for LinkedIn-first creators: founders building a personal brand, B2B professionals generating leads, consultants establishing authority, and agencies managing client LinkedIn accounts. It's a poor fit if you split your efforts across multiple social platforms or if you only post on LinkedIn once or twice a week: the pricing doesn't justify light use.

Taplio vs Buffer: which is better for LinkedIn?

Buffer is a general-purpose scheduling tool that works across many platforms and charges $5 per channel a month on its Essentials plan, verified 1 October 2026, which is $60 a year for a single LinkedIn channel. Taplio is a LinkedIn-specific growth tool at $39 to $199 a month, verified 15 June 2026. If you only need to schedule LinkedIn posts, Buffer is dramatically cheaper and perfectly functional. Choose Taplio over Buffer if you want AI writing assistance, the built-in carousel builder, viral post inspiration, and LinkedIn-specific analytics. Choose Buffer if you also manage Twitter, Instagram, or other platforms.

Does Taplio's AI actually write good LinkedIn posts?

The AI produces serviceable first drafts that follow proven LinkedIn engagement patterns. Hooks and opening lines are the strongest output. Full posts tend to sound generic: they use the same structures, tones, and phrasing that make AI-written LinkedIn content easy to spot. Plan to use the AI as a starting point and spend 10-15 minutes rewriting each draft to add your voice, examples, and specific expertise.

What does Taplio integrate with?

Taplio integrates with LinkedIn natively and connects to 6,000+ apps via Zapier on the Growth and Pro plans. Common integrations include Notion, Google Sheets, Salesforce, HubSpot, and Slack. The free Chrome extension works alongside LinkedIn.com for in-browser analytics and content insights. There's no direct API for custom integrations on the Starter or Growth plans.

Is Taplio good for building carousels?

Yes: the carousel builder is one of Taplio's strongest features. You can create LinkedIn carousels by typing your points, selecting a template, and customizing the design. You can also auto-generate carousel drafts from blog URLs or YouTube videos. It's faster than building carousels in Canva because it's purpose-built for LinkedIn's format. The carousel builder is available on all plans, including Starter.

Can teams use Taplio together?

Team features like shared workspaces, content approval workflows, and multi-account management are available on the Pro plan ($199/month). The Growth plan is single-user only. For agencies managing multiple LinkedIn accounts, the Pro plan's approval workflow lets managers review posts before they go live. Each team member needs their own seat, so team costs add up quickly.

Is Taplio worth the money?

It depends on how seriously you take LinkedIn. If you post 3-5 times a week, create carousels regularly, and want AI-assisted drafts, the Growth plan at $69 a month, verified 15 June 2026, can save hours of content creation time each week. If you post once or twice a week and only need scheduling, you are overpaying: Buffer charges $5 per channel a month on Essentials, verified 1 October 2026, and does the scheduling part equally well. The 7-day free trial is the best way to find out.

Can I cancel Taplio anytime?

Yes. Monthly plans can be canceled at any time, and you keep access through the end of your billing period. Annual plans can be canceled but typically don't offer prorated refunds: you keep access through the end of the annual term. If you're uncertain about long-term commitment, start with a monthly plan even though the annual pricing is 25% cheaper.
